Wonderjam in Amsterdam
Started in 2003 as an annual event, this production of DBrown’s has created a Texas Music Showcase in Europe. Inspired by pro-active audience thinking and a musician’s birhtday desire to play in Amsterdam with her whole band, DBrown developed the travel packages, promotions and publicity, and managed the whole production from fan travel to band tour arrangements and merchandizing. The first year was such a success and so much fun, that the idea has expanded musically ever since. DBrown still produces this event, with the help of others as the vision grows…
Austin Volunteer Orchestra
Started in 2004 under the philosophy of: Rehearsed, revolving ensembles of talent, both on and off stage, from different genres and bands, businesses and skills, to create once-in-a-lifetime artistic creations, over and over again. Both rock-n-roll and kid’s music ensembles have performed shows, with such big events to name as Austin City Limits Music Festival and WonderJam in Amsterdam. The organic nature of music and musically arrangements, especially in Austin, is followed in the organization of ensembles and the talent that graces Austin Volunteer Orchestra(AVO)’s groupings. DBrown is humbled by the generosity of artists involved in his projects, especially AVO.
Colorwarp
The original tye-dye website and business name, after The Inventive Tree, of DBrown’s works. Started in 1990, DBrown has worked diligently in many artistic forms, but rarely has made a commercial endeavor. Throughout the years, this business and other projects have helped to support this artist in his everyday financial obligations and in his efforts to explore new forms artistically. The tye-dye site was never finished as DBrown moved away from the wholesale business and back into canvas painting and high-end multi-media works. DBrown estimates making over 100,000 pieces in tye-dye to date…and still going on rare occasions!
