Bio

Original is often overused, but D Brown Fisher is just that. He is a real Texas Folkin’ Rocker. His heavy voicing and characteristic style is backed by strong rhythms on acoustic guitar. From rock n roll to soul, country to funky, the old and the new, D Brown fuses the music we all grew up on, with himself. A poet gone to the dark side of lyrics and self-taught instrumentalist, he’s always looking for the roots of styles to weave and warp into a fabric of sound and groove. First recorded by Matt Hubbard (who produces and engineers for Willie Nelson) in January 2005, he decided to form a band after years of solo performing.

In his band, D Brown throws it down, often playing electric guitar as well. The core of his band includes Speedy Sparks on bass, from Doug Sahm’s Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornadoes, just to name a few. And Michael Hale on drums, who has toured and recorded with Davíd Garza, Patrice Pike, W.C. Clark, and many more. This veteran rhythm section has the ability to follow D Brown in his new directions, giving the music that old school groove, while lead guitar virtuoso, Preston Dukes, sets that groove ablaze with raging tone. All top-notch performers with proven talents and experience, this band is a great show to catch, with traditional song arrangements that rock the audience and roll the scene.

Now, D Brown is performing around Texas and in Europe with the annual production –WonderJam in Amsterdam. As well, he released the EP Ancient Train exclusively in Europe in 2007 and has officially released the CD Blood on the Take in 2008 thru ToneGlobe Music. He will always create music in Texas but feels a strong need to bring a voice of rhyme and reason from the states to the other parts of this world, especially if they are only hearing the powers-that-be speak for us. Check out the website for the full scoop on all his music, writings, artwork, productions and upcoming gigs…thanks!
