Time Travel
Looking back
Stepping into the past
Experiencing that which was missed
The new pieces fit
Evidence lost
Inside the struggle for impossible gains
From losses along the way
Simplified strength of character
Homogenized existence
All experiences perceiving
No elation or tragedy
Nothingness being
Into a loop dirges immortality
Fractaling into a stairwell
Spiraling unto itself
Continuous overtures
Repetitious relief
Needed with each entry
Life caught and lost
Around dizzying possibilities
No end to infinite misery
Except that which fosters
False fears endocrine
For the sickle and cloak
Veil and guard martyred paths
Breaking through the cycles
Ending immortality to allow
Chance for change
Free-willing an original solution
Death offers salvation
For immortals locked
Life struggle
Question caught
Releases graciously
Grateful to leave
And experience the only unknown
Left to question the other side
Unveiled at last
Exclaimed solemnly
In a dying breath
