Black Cats
BLACK CATS
Two black cats crossing each other’s paths
To busy eyeballing me
Not noticing right away
Harmed and dismayed
Both caught in the other’s eyes
So still on such a night
Before we spoke in comments to cloak
Night’s loneliness together
In belief I waited
Alone again you stated
Fault lies in simple miscommunication
So sad in just a slight
Blink of an eye resides in lifetimes contrived
In a glance, eternity lives
Beauty sings harmonic
Imagination dances
Sight blinded in light softening delights
Sound upon winged flight
Carries away everything you say
While both black cats
Ignoring my path
Cross out to balance
Superstition passes silently
Ignoring any need to please
