Never Ending
I had to leave
Both of us could see
It was never ending
The pain and grief
Loneliness for relief
Lost in disbelief
And suffering strives
Relentlessly contrives
Nothingness to arrive
Time wanders the void
Between splits in seconds
Great divides leap
Light-years with each step
In another direction
You blink and are gone
I am left in this dimension
Confused and withdrawn
Why did you not take me with you?
Have I forever been left behind?
When the strings vibrate your presence
I know it’s you who has arrived
For tomorrow lies
Blatantly eluding
Blinding truth
Illuminates my mind
Overturns the heap
Cheap overtures deceived
And around again
It is never ending
I remember that day
You stepped far away
Since I cannot see
You must have left
But sometimes I feel
You within me still
