Ghostly

GHOSTLY

If I told you

You are nothing

More than a ghost in the machine

Would you hate me?

I’m not trying to be cruel

Evidence and truth

Do not judge our feelings

I want to react

Without good tact

I’d say my ego is the fool

So, if you hate me

I understand

But give me the chance

To present evidence

Through the eyes of a child

Mild and unintentional observance

Relative questions answered in a way

Perhaps placing us

Niche iota without purpose

Except to haunt us for a meaning

An essence to exist

Anchor

Nothing solid to secure

Illusion and human

One in the same

Just a ghost in a machine

Of which we know little about

The mechanics we decipher

With physics relating forms

Functioning elasticity rearranges

But mechanically sound

Rings across the universe

Gears in friction’s flow

Gravitate gyroscopic vortexes

Motion’s eloquence suggests

The machine may have a mind of its own

So are we mere ghosts in the shadow

Haunting reality

Alone

For the universe has purpose

Mechanical production to what end

I cannot go

I’m just little ghostly me

Standing next to you

I think…

But do not know

Perhaps if we agree

To set aside the petty

Games we all seem to play

Allow intention to solidify our interaction

A covenant to lift the veil

Discard the masks that only detract

Innocence to bravely prevail

As seed from death sprouts again

Life cannot grow in the shadows

And must passionately strive for light

Energy to live given radiance

Together we dance out of illusion

Casting growing shadows

No longer ghostly

Now

Solid
